Way To Go Mr. President!

February 9th, 2007 | Wahyudi

This is another proof of how incapable our leader in Indonesia. Our President just gave a statement saying that the flood in Jakarta which has caused more than 50 deaths and more than 300.000 people homeless is not a national catastrophe. The reason he said that is because the Jakarta local government (Pemda DKI) stated […]

Ignorance

February 6th, 2007 | Wahyudi

This post is not about topics that I usually wrote in the past, but I think that I need to share this somehow. In the last couple days you might have noticed the flood catastrophe in Jakarta, Indonesia, that is where I come from. Today CNN reported that the flood has caused 29 deaths (54 […]

Read this article about a switch from Mac to Vista, but read it to the end of the story. Other things to look up are the Mac OS Leopard Sneak peek including Time machine and the Windows Vista homepage.

January 9th, 2007 | Wahyudi

This is my first post in the category Watch Co.Id. A catecory dedicated to watch the web design and development issue in Indonesian websites. I want to start with the news page of SCTV “Liputan 6″ particulary with the headline that I found today. What is wrong with this article? A user on a website […]

IE7 HTML Source Selection

November 23rd, 2006 | Wahyudi

I found the “View Selection Source” from Firefox very usefull. Particularly if you are a web developer and need to see how a certain part of the page was created such as JavaScript, CSS. This feature allows you to see the HTML source of the part that is highlighted. With right click you will have […]

November 22nd, 2006 | Wahyudi

I finally installed IE7 on the new laptop I got from my office. The reason is because IE7 is now in its release version, so I have to prepare for the big convert of many users from applications we are developing. This could happend soon maybe. But this post should address problems that has caused headache. I […]

Jajah

November 17th, 2006 | Wahyudi

This is not a post about colonialism (jajah = colonial), more about an internet based phone service that in my opinion could beat Skype. I’ve been using SkpeOut for more than a year and since then I’m always satisfied with the rate and quality. Well I had to see the fact that if I don’t […]

Warning Sign

October 6th, 2006 | Wahyudi

I found the warning sign next to the login field which is probably the most important element on that page very inappropriate. Everytime a user lands on that page she will think that something wrong with the page or with the login field. The first warning sign is actually welcoming the users but it is […]

Scroller Is for Scrolling

August 16th, 2006 | Wahyudi

Have you ever used Google Maps with a mouse that has a scroller on it? The first time I notice that you can zoom in and out the maps using the scroller was so confusing. Even after that I still not get use to it. I think from the usability point of view, it is […]

Users Come First

February 27th, 2006 | Wahyudi

I found this site through Delicious. I did not read the articles there yet but what really bothers me is instead of finding the most important site element from the user prespective - which is navigaton - on the most user friendliest place - which is either on the top or left side -, i found “ads by Gooooooogle”. Many people integrate Google Adwords on their web sites, but I think you should not trick you visitor by placing it on the left side or on the top to camouflage it as your main navigation.
