Yeah, I woke up this morning and then realized that England didn’t qualify for the Euro 2008. The latest news brought at least a tiny good news that McClaren reign is over. After I read some other sad articles, I’m agree with the decission of sacking McClaren. First he hasn’t been able to form eleven full motivated players on the field and this has been like that since Eriksson’s time. England has the best players in this decade which made me believe that they will at least reach the 2006 World cup final. But at the end as we experienced last night again Croatia, those players seemed to ignore the situation. The situation that they got with a huge favor from Israel. If you got two chances and you blew it all, then you deserve to go home and hide.
I remember the match agains Portugal in quarter final of last world cup in Germany, only one player was showing impulsively performance which was Owen Hargraves and this player was sitting on the bench last night together with the most experienced player ex-captain David Beckham, the later one came in in the second half and delivered a cross that led to the second goal. Ok I agree that Tim Robinson is not the most reliable choice and he wasn’t even the second goal keeper that night, but at least McClaren would have brought David James with more experiences than Scott Carson. But whoever was on the fields that night they would have realized what situation they were facing.
