This is not a post about colonialism (jajah = colonial), more about an internet based phone service that in my opinion could beat Skype. I’ve been using SkpeOut for more than a year and since then I’m always satisfied with the rate and quality. Well I had to see the fact that if I don’t have Skype-enabled phone I have to use headset on my computer which is sometimes not the most convenient. A couple days ago we were hanging out (as usual) at my boss room and he mentioned about Jajah, an internet based phone that will beat Skype, so I was wondering how good it is.
Today I registered my self and tried it. To make it short, I’m more than satisfied. One thing that distinguish Jajah from Skype is that I can use regular phone or cellphone without have to buy a Jajah-enabled device. I can register up to three phone number (my home, cell, and office). So everytime I want to use Jajah to call for example Indonesia, I have to tell Jajah on their website which phone I want to use to make the call to Indonesia, a second after that, my phone is ringing and an operator voice is telling me that Jajah is now connecting me to Indonesia. The quality is great, and it is very convenient.
Jajah is also available in mobile version, it is running on Symbian OS. Unfortunatelly I could not find my Nokia 9300i, maybe not yet. Good thing is that they work with Symbian OS in most of the case. If it is available then I can use Jajah without having to be infront of the computer everytime I want to make a call.
