Why Blogging??

A friend of mine still try to find out why the interest of blog is increasing and why so many people are doing that or why so many people visiting and reading post on blogs. I started to answer the question by defining internet as a read and write medium and blog impersonates that concept very well. Sir Tim Berners-Lee founder of internet said in BBC interview that blog is closer to his original idea about internet medium. Well ok my friend can be agree with that since he also knew the complexity of content updating process which is sometime caused by the use of wrong content management system. But then he said why should we read more information junk produced on internet by letting individual publish content easily. Based on my answer that blog is also the vehicle of what some people say the grassroots internet or bottom-up internet. His statement could be right but also could be wrong. We all knew that any kind of medium can be biased or just telling the lie and to avoid that most of us goes usually to well-known medium to get the true story such as from New York Times, The Economist, Spiegel, BBC, News Week and so forth. But are they always telling the truth? So for me it is still a matter of how you can judge the content of an article or news and it doesn’t matter whether on internet or print media.

Let’s get back to blog. I told him that in this era of the new internet that i’m not depend on that big-player media since everyone inclusive well-known author, programer, visioner, business maker, journalist, etc can publish news, articles, opinions, solutions, etc, without having to wait until any journalist interview or ask them. That means i have more options. With this post i also want to list some blogs that owned by prominent people and they can be visioner, programer, author, manager, successful people.
